Killybegs Harbour Redevelopement

The Killybegs Harbour redevelopment provides the finest deep water port in Ireland. Funded through the National Development Plan with European Regional Development Fund grant aid. We were contracted by Mowlem to construct the 15,000m2 marine deck, quay wall, harbour headquarters, boat repair buildings, switch room buildings, 2nr cargo sheds, fish wash facilities, weighbridge and 1,000m road realignment with roundabouts. All our works were delivered on time in line with the overall €50m harbour redevelopment programme.

New Coast Guard Station for OPW, Bunbeg

We acted as main contractor and PSCS on this Construction of new Coast Guard Station for OPW. The building is a 3 storey admin block adjoining a 2 bay single storey boat and vehicle store. Due to the restricted nature of the site, a considerable volume of rock excavation was carried out adjacent to an existing house and factory premises and a working live pier. Construction consisted of a steel portal frame with curved roof to the boat and vehicle store and admin block. The building was constructed using structural concrete with infill blockwork and both precast and insitu concrete deck floors. Exterior features included insulated standing seam natural aluminium cladded roof, with both self coloured render and Tegral fineline 19 cladding to the exterior envelope. The interior of the communications room was finished with a specially applied acoustic coating to the ceiling.
